Thank you for your interest in the Builders Fund for Illinois Mennointe Conference, below you will find more information about the fund
Leadership development is one of the three key core processes of Illinois Mennonite Conference. As such it is imperative the conference develop adequate leadership development funding.
Grants: Matching; grant recipients are willing to invest in their own development
Purpose: to increase the understanding and skill level within an Anabaptist perspective of those Mennonite Church USA lay and licensed leaders who reside within Illinois Conference geography. Central District Conference West leaders are included.
Structure: determined by and accountable to the IMC executive leadership. The fund would be administered either by executive leadership itself or be delegated. If delegated to a standing committee or to a board of directors, the members will include licensed and lay, male and female, and persons of under-represented minority groups. Administrators will determine guidelines for fund-raising and for fund use.
Examples of possible fund use: scholarships for college or seminary level Anabaptist education courses; training events, seminars and workshops for pastors or lay leaders; ministry inquiry programs (including high-school level inquiry programs, such as recently piloted by Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary).
